Living in the Light of the Qur'an
Living in the Light of the Qur'an
Have we ever asked ourselves: how many of us who hear the Qur’an being recited actually understand what is being said?
What is the message of this Blessed Book? How much of this Blessed Qur’an has actually come into our lives? Are we, in fact, living in the light of this Qur’an?
Unfortunately, when we look at the condition of the Muslims, we notice a stark difference between the teachings of the Qur’an and the practical implementation of those teachings in the lives of Muslims.
The Beloved Messenger of Allah, our Master Muhammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was the embodiment of the Qur’an. When ‘A’isha (May Allah be pleased with her) was asked about the character and conduct of the Prophet, she replied, “His character was (the embodiment) of the Qur’an.”
Similarly, as Muslims who claim to follow the Messenger, we also need to embody the Qur’anic teachings in our lives.
Without this, the dire state of the Muslim Ummah will not change and we will continue to degenerate and self-destruct through ignorance, evil character, infighting, hatred, and enmity.
It is for this reason that we need to urgently reconnect ourselves with the Qur’an: through reading it, pondering over its meanings, and practical implementation of its sublime teachings into our lives. Our relationship with the Qur’an needs to be practical.
Insha’Allah, this brief booklet will guide us in doing just that.
